Wednesday August 27th, Guide Hall, Birnam 7.00pm

In 2024, a new care service was established in Dunkeld, covering the PH8 area. It was called ‘PH8 Caring Support’ and was directly accountable to the local Development Trust The aims were to:

- increase the overall amount of care locally

- create local jobs

- connect to other local services

- give people the care they need in their own homes and communities

18 months later and with the number of Personal Assistants recruited now into double figures, we’re about to enter a new partnership with colleagues in Kinloch Rannoch. It will be a not-for-profit Social Enterprise, overseen by people from both localities and with a strong connection into both communities . It’s name will be Heartland Cares Ltd and it will build upon the success of PH8 Caring Support. We’ll continue to recruit and provide mentoring to Personal Assistants, and support Befrienders. But we’ll now be looking to take on Homecare workers to deliver Personal Care as well. Our ambition is to establish a comprehensive care and support service, using local carers where possible and linking to others local services .
