Cathedral Path Repairs

The local Paths & Nature Group are one of the local groups that depend on the Dunkeld and Birnam Development Trust to provide the back office governance and banking.

The Trust is delighted to hear that the Paths & Nature Group have secured permissions for maintenance of the section of the Bishop's Walk alongside Dunkeld Cathedral. This section of path is heavily used by locals and visitors alike but has deteriorated such that in wet or icy conditions it was not accessible.

Repairs desperately needed to ensure year-round access

This is scheduled to take place on Mon 8 - Wed 10 December 2025. Please see the attached map for diversions.

The repairs have been possible thanks to support and agreement from Perth and Kinross Council, Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust, Dunkeld House Hotel, Historic and Environment Scotland, National Trust for Scotland and local community liaison with Dunkeld and Birnam Community Council and Dunkeld and Birnam Development Trust.

Please note that whilst we will have professionals on site, much of the work is being undertaken by local volunteers giving up their time and energy. If you would like to get involved in future volunteering, feel free to ask on the days!
